THE CATEGORICAL FUNCTION OF THE HIGHLY SPECIALIZED TERM IN THE STRUCTURE OF TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

Abstract. The article presents the results of the categorical analysis of the highly specialized terminology of oil and gas equipment, which was carried out in order to single out the thematic clusters of key terms for their further structuring in the format of the terminology database for non-linguistic speciality students studying the technical translation. The author proposes to consider the highly specialized term as a dynamic unit with the comprehensive changing semantics in the structure of technical knowledge, which is described according to logical and gnoseological classes: the object of representation, the nature of the content, the nature of the volume, and the levels of cognition.
