MEANS TO EXPRESS COMPARATIVE RELATIONS IN A SIMPLE SENTENCE: DENOMINATIVE RELATIVE НА ФОНЕ "AGAINST THE BACKGROUND"

Abstract. The article analyzes the constructions developed on the basis of denominative relative на фоне "against the background". The paper identifies specific features indicating the formation of comparative relations in such constructions. It is shown that relative на фоне "against the background" can function also in the constructions with other types of relations. The author concludes that the key feature of comparative constructions with this relative is lexico-semantic one.
