WAYS OF COMPOUND DERIVATIVE NAVAL TERMS FORMATION IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

Abstract. The article considers the ways of compound derivative naval terms formation in the English language. The objective of the work is to analyze the ways of forming such terms. The results obtained by the authors show the most typical ways: adding affixes or semi-affixes to the words belonging to terminological phrases; adding past or present participles, numerals or adjectives, abbreviations and proper names to word combinations. The novelty of the research is in systematizing the most typical ways of forming compound derivative naval terms.
