LINGUISTIC MEANS OF THE NOTION "FAMILY" VERBALIZATION IN THE WORKS "WAR AND PEACE" BY L. N. TOLSTOY AND "THE MAN OF PROPERTY" BY J. GALSWORTHY

Abstract. The article is devoted to studying the verbalization means of the socio-cultural notion "family" in the novels "War and Peace" by L. N. Tolstoy and "The Man of Property" by John Galsworthy. In the work, special attention is paid to the stylistic means that contribute to the implementation of the ameliorative or pejorative emotive evaluation of the lexical means denoting the notion "family". In the conclusion the authors attempt to highlight the characteristics of this notion in the analysed works that may be associated with cultural traditions and the attitude of the British and Russian peoples to it.
