VALUE CATEGORIES IN THE TATAR TRANSLATION OF "ONE THOUSAND AND ONE NIGHTS" TALES

Abstract. The article is devoted to analysing the vocabulary of the Tatar translation of "One Thousand and One Nights" tales. From the axiological viewpoint the author describes six of the ten conventional values and anti-values, analyses the vocabulary expressing intellectual-cognitive, vital, hedonistic, moral and ethical, emotional-utilitarian and material-utilitarian values and anti-values. Special attention is paid to the value "mind, intellect", the dyad "joy - grief" semantically associated with good and evil and the dyad "truth - falsehood" as insignificant phenomena, which are rare and expressed explicitly.
