TRANSLATION STRATEGY WORKING-OUT AS ITS ADEQUACY GUARANTEE

Abstract. The article is devoted to the problem of determining the strategy of translation. The authors cite several points of view related to the peculiarities of the interpretation of the translation strategy and their reasons. The authors incline to the necessity of interpreting this category within the framework of the communicative-functional approach to translation, which implies the identification of the strategy with the general program of the interpreter’s actions in specific communicative conditions. It is concluded that the correct interpretation and application of this notion is an integral part of quality translation that meets the requirements of both the author of the original message and the customer and audience.
