USE OF PODCASTS OF SOCIAL-POLITICAL NATURE IN TEACHING THE FRENCH LANGUAGE TO STUDENTS MAJORING IN INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

Abstract. Podcasts are an innovative means of ensuring the quality of teaching a foreign language due to authenticity, accessibility, cognitive character, multifunctionality, interactivity, productivity, and intensification of independent work. The article discusses the possibility of integrating podcasts in educational and cognitive activity on mastering the French language in the conditions of a non-linguistic faculty of the university. The author describes the didactic properties and methodological potential of the French podcasts. Recommendations on their use for the formation and development of listening and speaking skills are given. Samples of tasks of communicative and creative type are proposed, aimed at analysing, discussing and interpreting the obtained information. The expediency of using podcasts in students’ extracurricular independent work is substantiated.
