TRANSLATION PURPOSES: ATTEMPT AT TYPOLOGY. LEGAL TRANSLATION AND OTHER TYPES OF TRANSLATION

Shlepnev Dmitrii Nikolaevich
Nizhny Novgorod State Linguistic University named after N. A. Dobrolyubov

Abstract. The objective of the article is to propose a typology of translation purposes suitable for legal translation, and also, with appropriate adjustments, for other types of translation. For the construction of an effective typology, it is suggested to single out not one, but a number of core parameters - intersecting, conditioning each other and requiring comprehensive consideration. Also, the notion of text functions, practically meaningful for translation, is specified. The typology is not only of a theoretical nature, but has applied, in particular, didactic significance.
Key words and phrases: цель перевода, типология целей перевода, функции перевода, функции текста, цели юридического перевода, цели специального перевода, юридический перевод, translation purpose, skopos, typology of translation purposes, translation functions, text functions, purposes of legal translation, purposes of special translation, legal translation
