ON ATTITUDE TO REALITY OF PHILOSOPHICAL SCIENCE AND SCHOOL OF VIRTUE IN IRIS MURDOCH’S NOVELS

Islamova Alla Karimovna
Saint Petersburg University

Abstract. The article analyzes the ethical and philosophical problems of Iris Murdoch’s novels "The Philosopher’s Pupil" and "The Good Apprentice". Comparing the esthetical planes of two novels allows determining the general ontological perspective for covering the problems posed, as well as the ethical basis for their solutions in connection with the ideological prerequisites of the writer’s intention and in relation to the captured reality. The systemic analysis of the identified relations leads to the conclusion that in their integrity they form the basis of the author’s concept of ethical experience as a condition for the formation of essential human values.
