AFFIXAL WORD FORMATION IN ENGLISH NAVAL TERMINOLOGY

Abstract. The article examines affixal word formation in English naval terminology. The authors identify the prefixes and suffixes most frequently used for the formation of naval vocabulary. Affixal derivatives may belong to different parts of speech - nouns, adjectives, verbs - and can form military terminological word combinations. The relevance of the study is in the fact that affixal means is highly productive in the formation of English naval terms.
