Abstract. The article is devoted to the consideration of the metaphorical representation of the basic concepts in the texts of E. Ryazanov’s films. The studied concepts, structured by metaphors of personification, are included in the metaphorical paradigms "abstract notion / person", "objects created by human labor / person" and analyzed within the theory of conceptual metaphor since metaphorrical transfer serves as an effective means of the verbalization of both abstract entities and specific objects. In this research, the specificity of the metaphor functioning in film scripts is revealed, the interrelation between the formation of these metaphors in the film language and the environment, socio-cultural and historical background of a certain period is shown by identifying and describing the singled out metaphoric models.
