THE CATEGORY OF DOMINANT IN PSYCHOLOGY, LITERARY STUDIES AND METHODOLOGY OF TEACHING LITERATURE AT SCHOOL

Abstract. The article reveals the essence of the dominant as a factor determining the direction of human perception, integrating different sensations into a whole; as the unchangeable, most significant aesthetic center of literary text. The author pays special attention to the problem of forming the methodological base of the research in relation to the problem of the actualization of the humanistic dominants of the Russian classics; the description of the ways to identify value centers and concretize the significant components of the content core of literary text at Literature lessons in the 5-8th grades.
