INTERTEXTUAL ELEMENTS AND THEIR LITERARY SIGNIFICANCE IN TATYANA TOLSTAYA’S NOVEL "KYS"

Abstract. The article deals with intertextual elements in Tatiana Tolstaya’s novel "Kys" from the point of view of their literary functionality. It is established that an exact non-attributive quote is the most frequent means of the "alien" word introduction into the novel text. Basing on the analysis of specific intertextual elements (precedent texts by M. Yu. Lermontov, A. S. Pushkin, B. Sh. Okudzhava, P. A. Fedotov, M. A. Vrubel, etc.), the author reveals that they perform certain creative tasks: they serve as a means of creating the hero’s image, contribute to the characteristic of the anti-utopian chronotope of the novel by T. Tolstaya, help implicitly express the writer’s position.
