HISTORICAL NOVEL BY AHMET ?MIT AS A STAGE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE MODERN TURKISH FICTION

Abstract. The article considers the historical novel "Elveda G?zel Vatan?m" ("Farewell, My Beautiful Motherland") (2015) by the famous modern Turkish writer A. ?mit from the point of view of the fictional code that defines the structure of the whole work. The analysis of stylistic novel layers - historical, axiological and detective - implemented at the plot-composition level allows us to talk about the documented basis of the event line in the work, the vivid expression of the writer’s self, the psychology of images and the complex chronotope. The paper focuses on the historical concept of the author’s reality, which is subjected to the violent attacks of the Turkish pro-government literary criticism.
