GENDER REPRESENTATION OF PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS WITH THE COMPONENT-ZOONYM IN THE RUSSIAN AND YAKUT LANGUAGES

Abstract. The article examines the Russian and Yakut phraseological units with the component-zoonym from the viewpoint of the gender approach. The paper discovers the national and cultural specificity of the Russian and Yakut zoomorphic systems and provides a contrastive description of zoonyms with a view to identify interlingual semantic discrepancies. The correlation of male and female zoo-characteristics is revealed. The findings allow the authors to conclude that the specificity of the Russian and Yakut zoonyms is determined not only by differences in fauna distribution in the ethnic residential areas but also by the peculiarities of ethnic mentality and geopolitical factors.
