META-TEXTUAL REFERENCE AS A MEANS TO INCREASE INFORMATIONAL CONTENT OF SPECIAL TEXT

Abstract. The article is devoted to the problem of studying texts used in special communication, in the sphere of medicine. The paper examines the pragmatic content of such texts, identifies and describes possible variants of using meta-textual reference as a means to increase their informational content. It is shown that meta-textual reference in the difficult for perception and understanding drug instruction text fragments containing highly specialized medical terms makes reading easier for a non-expert consumer. The author concludes that meta-textual reference is a means to increase the informational content of the analysed texts.
