SYSTEM OF EXERCISES FOR TEACHING ACADEMIC WRITING TO THE CHINESE STUDENTS - SPECIALISTS IN THE RUSSIAN PHILOLOGY

Abstract. The article considers the methodology of teaching academic writing at the lessons of Russian as a foreign language. The paper describes innovative teaching methods and strategies, preparation of test tasks aimed to develop the Chinese students’ linguistic and professionally-oriented competences. The study is based on the author’s original system of exercises aimed to develop the Russian academic writing skills in the non-native speakers of Russian. The author argues that exercises developed on the basis of interactive methods and linguistic and stylistic analysis of educational and scientific texts motivate students to apply the acquired skills while preparing articles, abstracts, reports, theses in linguistics.
