RUSSIA’S IMAGE IN A. I. NESMELOV’S POEM "MY COUNTRY, THE COUNTRY OF DARING DESTINY..."

Abstract. The article examines Russia’s image represented in A. I. Nesmelov’s poem "My Country, the Country of Daring Destiny…" as a composite image of the Russian literature. Till now the main theme of A. I. Nesmelov’s poem has been interpreted exclusively as tragic. The authors believe that, providing the sorrowful feeling of loss and loneliness, the poem at the same time emphasizes the undeniable value of the Russian literature. The literary personages mentioned by the poet are associated with moral strength, dignity, spiritual endurance, aesthetic endowment, fullness of sensual experience.
