"CITY ON THE EDGE": APOCALYPTIC MOTIVES IN THE YAKUT URBAN TEXT

Abstract. The article deals with the peculiarities of local urban text as a unified artistic and cultural system. The main object of the study is a system of apocalyptic motives and images revealing the status specificity of Yakutsk as a city on the edge. The Yakut urban text is considered as an artistic unity of the complex structural level, where landscape-climatic characteristics included in the whole, urban objects, buildings and people in urban reality reveal the mental image of the Sakha people’s world. The structure of the city space is analysed at several levels: topological realia, loci, fragments of space, natural and climatic peculiarities, subjects of the urban world and the intangible and sensual world.
