HYPER-HYPONYMIC RELATIONS IN THE ENGLISH TELEVISION TERMINOLOGY

Abstract. The article is devoted to studying hyper-hyponymic relations by the material of the English television terminology in the synchronous aspect. The author identifies the tendencies in the semantics of terms included in multi-level hierarchy considering the influence of extra-linguistic factors. The relevance of the study lies in the fact that the analysis of the hyper-hyponymic complexes of the English television terminology can be used in translation practice. For the first time, the paper reveals the peculiarities of using the analysed terminological units.
