PROBLEM OF RELIGIOUS LANGUAGE SIMPLIFICATION (BY THE MATERIAL OF THE GERMAN TRANSLATIONS OF PSALM 50)

Abstract. The article examines one of the relevant problems of religious discourse - the problem of language simplification. The paper focuses on analysing the German biblical translations containing simplification and considered as the models of the Christian religiolect. Analysing Psalm 50 translation variants, the author identifies simplification techniques in the German biblical texts and suggests their classification. The researcher concludes that the degree of language simplification in the German biblical texts characterizes the peculiarities of a certain confessiolect.
