ARTISTIC ORIGINALITY OF G. R. DERZHAVIN’S ODE "DOBRADA’S ABODE"

Abstract. The article is devoted to the study of G. R. Derzhavin’s late creative work. The specificity of the artistic world of the "Dobrada’s Abode" ode is considered for the first time. The author traces the plot sources, value commencement, thematic and stylistic diversity of the ode, specificity of the poetic portrait connecting historical and private in human life, the features of genre synthesis covering the elements of lyrics, folklore and dramaturgy. Psychology, encyclopaedism, everyday life description, the image of existence spirituality are defined as essential features of Derzhavin’s aesthetics. The paper shows that the genre-style and thematic many-layered nature of the work reflected the character of the poet’s artistic search at the turn of the XVIII-XIX centuries. The analysis of the ode makes it possible to follow Derzhavin’s way through poetry "connecting" the traditions of the classic ode and pre-romantic lyricism.
