POSITION OF A REPRESENTED OBSERVER AS A RECEPTIVE ASPECT OF THE VISUAL IN LITERATURE

Submitted: 03.07.2019
Abstract. The article examines dynamic types of figurative structure in a reader’s receptive act taking into account the duality of the position as a presenter (manifesting his vision) and as a represented observer (described against the background). Originality of the study lies in the fact that the receptive aspect of the visual in literature is insufficiently investigated. Analyzing the existing scientific works and approaches to interpreting literary texts, the author concludes that a receptive act implies the turn of a reader’s consciousness binding together the parts and the whole, i.e. the shift between actualization and reduction of a represented observer’s visual field occurs. So, the represented observer’s visual field is considered as creative and created space of dynamic artistic mechanisms.
