Abstract. The article examines metaphoric models used in the media text to represent conceptual metaphors. The following types of metaphoric models are identified: a model to explicate expansion, a model to explicate reduction, a model to explicate parallelism, a model to explicate alternation. The analysis indicates that a model explicating expansion is the most frequent one. These models help to organize the space of the media text, to establish relations between its components. Journalists use various types of metaphoric models to exert implicit and explicit influence on readers, to make it easier for them to understand the phenomena of reality.
Key words and phrases: концептуальная метафора, метафорическая модель, экспансия, сокращение, параллельность, чередование, медиатекст, conceptual metaphor, metaphoric model, expansion, reduction, parallelism, alternation, media text
