Abstract. Tchelyabinsk branch of All-Russian Theatre Society provided cultural patron work in the district and solved such tasks as the development of amateur creativity at the supported enterprises, artistic education and the propaganda of political slogans with the help of theatre among the least educated inhabitants (soldiers, rural workers, workers). Tchelyabinsk branch of All-Russian Theatre Society together with the theatres spread the new ideology typical for socialist cultural policy with the help of the theatrical forms of education: readings, audience conferences, culture universities and others.
