Abstract. The article is devoted to cultural-instructive institutions state and their development in Gorno-Altaisk autonomous region in the 50s-60s of the XXth century. Special attention is paid to considering the work of libraries, recreation centers, village halls, village libraries and reading rooms, cultural enlightenment mobile sets, Altaian women's houses and lecture propaganda. Film-showing facilities provision and radio installation work are tackled.
