Abstract. The article covers modern native researches devoted to the problem of pagan rites and festivals of ancient Slavs. The author pays attention to the interesting questions raised by modern scientists such as the question about the systematization of Old Russian national holidays and about the classification of pagan rites and considers the views of modern researchers on such debatable question as human sacrifices of eastern Slavs.
