Abstract. The article reveals the problems of women's stay in the first Old Believers' communities and their participation in old devotion zealots' movement. The author pays special attention to the questions of the formation of women's own position in life concerning religion question and considers the behavior of the women arrested during Old Believers' criminal investigations and their actions in the extreme situation.
