SEMANTIC CORRELATION OF DUTCH PAINTING AND EMBLEMATICS OF THE XVIITH CENTURY (BY THE EXAMPLE OF DELFT PAINTERS' WORKS)

Abstract. The author considers the problem of the semantics and semantic interpretation of Dutch painting of the XVIIth century, analyzes Delft masters' genre art paintings on the basis of iconological method, studies their storyline parallels in didactic emblematics and concludes that emblematics was the source of Dutch art works content.
