CIVILIZING MISSION AS ACQUITTAL NARRATIVE OF RUSSIAN ATTACK ON TURKESTAN IN ORIENTALISTS' WORKS: THE END OF THE XIXTH - THE BEGINNING OF THE XXTH CENTURY

Abstract. The author analyzes the works of the Russian orientalists' who studied the problem of Russia and Turkestan relations during the Russian attack in the middle of the XIXth century and pays special attention to the conception of civilizing mission that would justify the Russian conquest of Turkestan.
