TOURISM ORIGIN WITHIN CAUCASUS IN PRE-REVOLUTIONARY PERIOD

Abstract. The author considers the history of tourism origin and development within Caucasus. Originating tourism was in the form of educational walks. In the XIXth century the first travel agencies appeared in Caucasus, and the most well-known of them such as the Caucasus Mountain Society, the Crimean-Caucasian Club, played significant role in native tourism history, created the foundations of sightseeing practice and techniques.
