Abstract. The author gives arguments for the proposition that firearms and special equipment used for safeguarding activity are sources of increased danger, reveals and studies their harmful properties, determines the types of legal liability that are applied to the owners of these sources, and basing on the conducted analysis makes suggestions for the improvement of civil legislation in the sphere under consideration.
