Abstract. The author reveals professor D. A. Milyutin's activity as a department chief of Military-Educational Institutions Headquarters, for the first time tells about his various educational-pedagogical responsibilities, and pays special attention to the consideration of Milyutin's work General Instruction for Working Out Educational Summaries and Programs for Military-Educational Institutions, and the content of Essays on Teaching Russian Literature and Political Sciences to Educatees.
