SOVIET FASHION IN CONTEXT OF DAILY LIFE OF URBAN AREA IN THE 1950-1960S (BY MATERIALS OF OMSK OIL INDUSTRY WORKERS' TOWN)

Abstract. The authors reveal fashion manifestation features in the daily life of a local space as a new area of a large city within the USSR, present the conditions for fashion realization in daily life within the framework of the general historical context of the 1950s and 1960s, with emphasis on Khrushchev thaw period, and mention that the reliance on interdisciplinary research model (using the methods of new local history, new social history and urban culture theory) allows considering soviet fashion in broad interpretation, under the conditions of new ideological attitudes and the social-political course for mass house construction, and increasing consumer goods production.
