Abstract. The author analyzes the philosophical aspects of religious estrangement, on the basis of the designated universality of the category "estrangement" that is widely represented in philosophy and sociology considers "religious estrangement" as a social-historical form, which is the result of an individual’s estranged existence from natural and social being, and conducting the content analysis of the initial concept reveals the types, in which religious estrangement manifests itself in socium.
