QUESTIONS OF RESIDENTIAL ARCHITECTURE PRESERVATION AND POPULARIZATION IN SHEKI-ZAGATALA REGION OF AZERBAIJAN

Abstract. The author shows that the analysis of Sheki-Zagatala zone monuments proves that residential houses are in the most deplorable condition because they are constantly reconstructed by their owners, full-scale and archival-bibliographic analyses lead to the conclusion that the majority of houses, studied in the middle of the XXth century, do not exist or have been radically reconstructed; mentions that remaining residential buildings are mostly referred to the end of the XIXth- the XXth century, considers different types of residential houses, which survived in the region, as well as suggests recommendations for their preservation under modern conditions.
