NUCLEAR POWER FACILITIES LICENSING IN THE USA (BY THE EXAMPLE OF THE JUDICIAL DECISION RENDERED ON THE CASE OFMAINE YANKEE NUCLEAR POWER PLANT)

Abstract. The authors discuss the licensing system used for nuclear power plants in the USA, pay special attention to licensing normative-legal regulation, analyze the legal material of the judicial decision onMaine Yankee case, which reflects the advantages and disadvantages of nuclear power equipment licensing, and emphasize social control difficulties in the decision making process of license granting.
