AGRICULTURE WITHIN SMOLENSK PROVINCE IN 1917

Abstract. The author analyzes the state of agriculture within Smolensk province before the October Revolution basing on various sources, and shows what happened in crop production, cattle breeding, land relations, and how the events of the World War I and February-October 1917 influenced the agricultural sector development in the region.
