Abstract. The author presents the historiographical review of the researches analyzing the role of subsidiary bodies (apparatus) in state authorities functioning system, in particular pays special attention to the consideration of the regional specificity of subsidiary structures research (by the example of the executive and legislative authorities of the Republic of Mordovia), and emphasizes the lack of the analytical works devoted to the research of subsidiary bodies evolution in the context of vertical of power strengthening.
