CAUCASIAN ARMY OF SOUTHERN RUSSIA MILITARY FORCES: BEGINNING OF BATTLE WAY FROM VELIKOKNYAZHESKAYA TO TSARITSYN

Abstract. The author considers the questions related to the formation, establishment and beginning of the battle way of one of a great number of military formations of the White South created in 1919 - the Caucasian Army, shows the reasons that stimulated the White command in May 1919, after the defeat of the 10th South Front Red Army of Workers and Peasants’ Red Army of Velikoknyazheskaya, to create a single fighting fist from scattered white cavalry formations, to set up famous general-cavalryman P. N. Wrangel at its head; and describes the assault and capture of "Red Verdun" - Tsaritsyn by this army.
