Abstract. Suicide is one of the ethnic and cultural aspects of the North Caucasus peoples’ ideas about death. The article analyzes people’s attitude to the problem of suicide, and by gender-differentiated material covers the traditional methods for suicide control, some of which can be of practical value today. The reanimation of ethnic and mental guidelines, the spread of historical knowledge, etc. should become a barrier to the spread of religious and everyday suicide.
