SUBLIME CATEGORY IN TERMS OF PHILOSOPHICAL RESEARCHES ON AFFECTIVITY

Fedorova Kseniya Evgen'evna
Ural Federal University named after the First President of Russia B. N. Yeltsin

Abstract. The article presents the analysis of the category of sublime from the point of view of the modern philosophical, as well as cultural and neuro-scientific theories of affectivity. The methodologies of these theories can reveal new features of the correlation between sensory and cognitive levels in the perception of sublime and define it as a phenomenon of "pure intensity" and the intention of overcoming the boundaries of sensuality arising at pre-cognitive level.
Key words and phrases: возвышенное, аффект, опыт-предел, воображение, чувственность, асигнификация, интенсивность, sublime, affect, experience-limit, imagination, sensuality, asignification, intensity
