FROM STIGMATIZATION TO STATUS: LEGISLATIVE EVOLUTION OF ADOPTION INSTITUTION IN ENGLAND IN THE XIX TH – AT THE BEGINNING OF THE XXI ST CENTURY

Abstract. The article considers the main stages of adoption institution formation and development in England since its legalization in 1926. The conclusion about the obtained results of this institution legislative perfection is made: equating the legal status of the adopted child with the legal status of the child from the consanguine family, the availability, along with secret adoption procedure, of the open procedural mechanisms aimed at the maximum rapid transfer of the child to the family, the appreciation of social parenthood that allowed making adoption one of the priority ways of protecting the rights of children deprived of parental care.
