Abstract. The author considers the theoretical foundations of the notion "social-cultural image", defines social-cultural environment and social-cultural space as social-cultural image segments, also pays considerable attention to the content of the notion "mentality", which is a reflection of the specific features of the corresponding type of culture, a special way of thinking among this culture representatives; and by means of the systematization of the existing points of view on the subject of the article undertakes an attempt to reveal the definition of the notion of social-cultural image and its semantic content.
