RUSSIAN POLITICAL MENTALITY: TRADITIONS AND MODERNITY

Abstract. The author reveals the notion "political mentality", which refers to the scientific discourse of political anthropology and includes such elements as political knowledge, political psychology, and political behaviour, sets the goal to analyze the specificity of the Russian political mentality, achieves this goal by means of the study of the traditional Russian political conceptions, stated in the works of the classics of the native political thought, the generalization of the modern Russian political scientists’ points of view, the use of social researches data; and presents the model of the Russian political mentality and the characterization of its dynamics by the materials of the monitoring of the unique project "The Russians in the XXIst Century", undertaken in 2010-2011 by Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Russian Academy of Sciences in cooperation with Radio of Russia.
