RELIGIOUS-PHILOSOPHICAL FOUNDATIONS OF MANICHAEISM

Abstract. The authors consider the genesis of Manichaeism as a religious-philosophical doctrine, determine its connection with Zoroastrianism, Christianity and Buddhism, consider these teachings as spiritual foundations of the Manichean conception, emphasize that the main pathos of Manichaeism was not Christian, but gnostic, and trace the impact of the Manichean teaching on the spiritual and political life of the countries, in which it gained ground.
