SOLDIERS’ "GRATEFUL" LETTERS FROM THE ACTING ARMY IN THE FAR EAST (1905-1906)

Abstract. The author analyzes soldiers’ "grateful" letters from the serving army in the Far East, written during the short period from the beginning of March 1905 till the end of May 1906 and addressed to Vyatka ladies’ circle, considers the soldiers’ mood, needs, their attitude to the war, military life, pays attention to the fact that there was practically no assessment of the war course, the Russian command actions in military correspondence, for the first time introduces the letters that are used in the article into scientific circulation, and gives their brief source study analysis.
