SALAFISTS IN POST-SOVIET RUSSIA: SPREAD HISTORY, DESTRUCTIVE POTENTIAL

Abstract. The author analyzes the features of Salafi (Wahhabism) spread – the radical branch in Sunni Islam – within post-soviet Russia, and basing on the materials of North Caucasus and Volga region shows the regional specificity of the Salafi groups in the Russian Federation, as well as their threat to the Russian state.
