KODIAK HIERARCHAL INSTITUTION MATERIAL SECURITY PROBLEM IN INTERRELATIONS BETWEEN THE SYNOD AND THE RUSSIAN-AMERICAN COMPANY (THE END OF THE XVIII ^TH – THE BEGINNING OF THE XIX ^TH CENTURY)

Abstract. The author considers one of the key problems, which caused nearly two decades of trial between the Holy Governing Synod and the Russian-American Company: the question of the funds intended by the Synod for Kodiak Hierarchal Institution, and appropriated by the Russian-American Company; basing on archival documents studies the problem essence, and comes to the conclusion that the extremely unfavorable financial situation of the Russian-American Company at that time could be one of the reasons for the funds appropriation.
