THE UDI PEOPLE’S ETHNIC BEING: ATTEMPT OF POLITICAL-PHILOSOPHICAL AND PHENOMENOLOGICAL RESEARCH

Abstract. The author for the first time researches the philosophical problems of the being of such ethnic minority as the Udi people, discusses the history existence, objective bases and "vital world" of the Udi ethnos from Antiquity up to the present time, reveals the phenomenon of their culture and identity, describes the specific character of multilingualism and complimentarity, as a result of the research determines the vectors and possibilities of the Udi people’s social-cultural integration into the modern heterogeneous Russian society, and comes to the conclusion that during twenty five centuries of their history multilingualism and religious tolerance of the Udi people were a determinative of their preservation as an ethnic integrity from assimilation and acculturation, and contributed to the adaptation and reproduction under the conditions of continuous social changes.
